The Spec is an Arizona-based music website focused on covering local and independent artists. Most website content includes interviews, upcoming events, recommendations, photography, video and reviews. The Spec was started in August 2011 when Alexis Getscher and Dee Wallace, who both graduated from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication in December 2010, decided to pave their own way in the journalism industry.
